Seized Vehicle Auction

Seized vehicle auctions are a novel way to purchase a luxury car, boat or motorcycle at low prices. These are the cars, boats and other vehicles seized by the government because someone couldn’t pay his taxes or because the property is ill-gotten gains as the result of criminal activity.

Why buy from a used vehicle auction?

Most autos in these auctions average only 2-3 years in age and have traveled 40,000 miles or less. These used vehicles can be purchased for up to 95 percent off of retail prices. All of that is great, but why is it easier for you to buy from a seized vehicle auction? It is a confusing process; however, you don’t have to deal with used auto lots and their salesmen who specialize in the high pressure sale. You don’t have to deal with private sellers who will tell you anything you want to hear (but the truth) in order to make a sale. You are in charge with a used auto auction. You decide what you want to pay, but you are under no pressure to make the sale. You can walk away at any time.

Where do seized vehicles come from?

Vehicles are repossessed when buyers overestimate their ability to pay the monthly note on the vehicle. Maybe the previous owner lost his job or had to take a pay cut. Maybe he incurred unexpected expenses. Regardless of the reason, the bank seized the auto. Many times it costs the bank more money to store the seized autos than to sell them, so they place it for auction. Other autos and seized boats come up for auction after they have been seized by police agencies. Most, however, come from government agencies that need to sell autos used by federal and state agencies, police and fire departments, religious or other non-profit organizations, universities and hospitals. Many times the reason for getting rid of the vehicle is because the lease has ended. Other sources of auction autos are dealer trade-ins and donations.
